I am looking for an acne treatment, I get breakouts real bad and I have tried proactiv and several of the over the counter meds. but they do not seem to work for me. Any help would be appreciated. -
How long did you use Proactiv?
If you used less than a month you can see the results. You have to use at least two months supply so say that doesn't work.
For me it worked very good and I use it for 2 years, twice a day. I know that seems as a big commitment, but my desperation was much bigger than the effort to use the products twice a day. My face was horrible, and after I use it it was acne free, not even a little pimple on my face.
Use benzoyl peroxide based products, they work , but you have to use them for a long time(at least a month) to see any results. -

Cetaphil body wash as a cleanser, witch hazel as a toner, Benzac 10% cream and a moistuerizer of your choice (i use sorbelene) all this costs less then $30 (australian) at your local chemist and contains the same active ingredients as proactive and is more then half the cost as these will last you up to three months if used properly.
The most important part of any skincare regime is consistency. If you want fast results you will spend alot of money on products that will only do a small job....I have been struggling for almost 10 years to control my acne with every over the counter, prescription and infomertial products there is and I can honestly tell you this is the cheapest, most effective I have found so far...it has been 6 weeks of doing this regime 2 times a day and my skin is still not perfect but heaps better and always improving, no more breakouts...just scars now so I will find a way to rid of these....just remember that diet also plays a vital role in skin care....I cant wait till the day my skin looks clear

I had acne before then I try Proactive I am scared now I am so ashame to visit people or to look at people.
I have been using for more than 2 months and my result was.
It make my face dry & flakey I was peeing off skin everyday from my face pleases like my cheeks did not have acne before not I am breaking out all over with large inflamation & am so huriffied by this por- active did not work for me & had all belife when I bought it will work.

http://adieuacne.blogspot.com contains a couple links to a product that cleared up my chronic cystic acne, and even reduced the visibility of my scars. It is the ONLY thing that's helped me, and I've tried everything. Proactiv was actually one of the LEAST effective products that I've tried. A more natural approach to acne is recommended.
