Both Retin-a and retin-a micro contain same active ingredient, but only retin-a micro offers the benefits of tretinoin. It has a patented microsphere delivery system, for minimum irritation.

Also, Retin-A Micro can be applied immediately after you wash your face, and is a water-based gel. If you use Retin-A, you have to wait for 20 to 30 minutes after you wash your face.
and i also heard that Retin-a micro reduces the appearance of facial shine.

Sorry, Susan, I have to fix this: Both Retin-A and Retin-A MicroGel are tretinoin-based acne creams. It's true, Retin-A MicroGel brings microsphere system, and this system is reducing the irritation. Also, it seems (from others' posts) that REtin-A MicroGel works better, but I can not bet on this.
