I had been looking into a good acne scar removal treatment for years and I finally found a Doctor in Beverly Hills who helped me totally change my skin. He does a treatment called Exoderm. Here is the article I got off his website about it. www.ivanthomasmd.com

You can go here to look at the photos.

Here is the article I found... it pretty much describes every that i've come to know.

    Exoderm Treatment for Acne Scars

Severe acne usually leaves very visible and annoying scars on the face which can cause social and psychological problems all through adulthood. Several treatments for acne scars have been used with variable results, each with its own limitation and effect. These include individual excision of acne pits and craters which may leave many scars, laser treatments with less than ideal results, injection of collagen and other dermal fillers with little or no effect, and dermabrasion and chemical peels with very limited improvement.

Exoderm, a unique state of the art method for facial rejuvenation which is highly effective for the treatment of facial lines, spots, blemishes, pre-cancerous lesions, works very effectively for the treatment of acne scars when combined with abrasion of the skin. The reason Exoderm is combined with skin abrasion is so that acne scars can be treated with both mechanical abrasion and chemical abrasion. The combined cumulative effect of these two different treatments results in a very impressive reduction and in milder cases complete elimination of acne scars.

Exoderm is an exclusively based phenol solution composed of 12 ingredients. Exoderm exerts controlled dermal penetration and is thus devoid of complications associated with conventional phenol peels. In essence the various oils in Exoderm prevent the phenol portion to penetrate beyond a safe depth. Regular phenol can penetrate into the skin uncontrollably, increasing the chance of irregular heart beats during the procedure and scarring later on.

The procedures are performed under I.V. sedation or general anesthesia which is administered by a qualified anesthesia specialist in our fully certified surgery center located in the Century City/ Beverly Hills area of Los Angeles. Recovery time is approximately eight days. I have been performing the Exoderm treatment for acne scars for over 8 years and the results in my practice have been very gratifying.

    Exoderm Procedure

After administration of anesthesia by an anesthesia specialist the skin is cleansed thoroughly to remove any oil and debris. This is followed by applying Exoderm to the entire facial skin starting from the hairline working all the way down to the jawline. The treated area is then covered with non-permeable tape which allows Exoderm to exert its effect on the face for 24 hours. The following day the tapes are removed and the scars are abraded. Additional Exoderm may be applied on the deeper acne scars before the entire face is covered with a special powder which has antibacterial and drying properties. The powder dries on the face in the form of a mask. The mask comes off on the 8th day and the new treated skin is revealed.

Like all deep skin treatments the Exoderm treated area will look red initially, yet the smoothness and overall texture of the skin is remarkable. One week after the Exoderm treatment patients are ready to use make-up and return to work. The redness fades gradually over the next few months. The after care is simple and consists of moisturizers and sunblock. I recommend sunblock that contains Titanium Dioxide and Zinc Oxide these ingredients are gentle, non-irritating, and offer great protection. Exoderm treated skin becomes a shade lighter on a permanent basis. Individuals whose neck skin is tan may have to use a tinted moisturizer under the jawline in order to blend demarcation, which may occur, in the treated vs. non-treated skin.

Exoderm stimulates the production of collagen and elastic fibers in the facial skin therefore an added benefit to this treatment is the overall tightening of facial skin and the elimination of various deep lines and wrinkles, age spots, sun spots, blemishes and pre-cancerous lesions.

Honestly, I would disagree. It's REALLY hard to remove deep acne scars without laser treatment and if you can afford it, best go for the laser treatment (it definitely works!)

Would highly recommending using laser treatment for pitted acne scars because its the best method that works!
