PLEASE PLEASE I NEED HELP. I AM DEPRESSED.

    Latest reply from galmiar

I am extremely depressed. I am 19, and have had mild to moderate acne since I was about 16... only recently it has been more severe. My face is covered in red, angry acne, it is repulsive. Anyway i've been to the doctor several times.
Right now I am waiting for a referral to a dermatologist to go through, the doctor says the next course of action for me (because anti-biotics dont work) would be roacutane... but he said that i may have trouble getting that because I currently have another referral waiting to do with ADHD... and roacutane can cause depression and suicide especially for people with mental issues. heh.

well right now i've been put on a combination of minocylcline (100mg pills), zineryt topical application, and benzoyl peroxide wash. I used to have some success with benzamycin gel but its no longer made.

do you think i will get any results from these things they have given me? If not I may consider illegally buying roacutane from the internet, I need this to get sorted, or my depression will worsen.

My acne got this bad just after I broke up with my girlfriend a few months ago, I started smoking around that time too. The doctor said there is no link between smoking and acne, but i quite the other day regardless. nicotine gum for me :)

If i used makeup to cover the acne a bit, is there a chance that it can make it worse? thanks for any help!

Your body has been under a lot of physical stress (smoking) and mental stress (relationships). Give it some time to calm down. I can't speak for everyone, but my acne got a lot less severe about when I was 20.

You really don't won't to get on something that a doctor won't prescribe for you. As stated above, there are serious side effects.

I think you will see results from what he gave you. I've been on similar treatments in the past. I noticed that mine would clear up my face temporarily and then I would break out again...but it was the same story for every treatment I tried.

As for make-up, go ahead and use it. I use it almost every day to hide mine, and on more than one occasion, I've put it on guys to hide their acne. I really don't think there is anything too bad out there. I'd stay away from powders; I have heard those clog pores. However, for coverage, you probably want a concealer or foundation anyway. Both should be fine as long as you wash them off thoroughly at night. Otherwise they will stay on the skin, clogging pores, and causing infections.

I agree with xogujjugirlxo above. People don't see your acne as much as you do. It's take me years to realize that even the pretty, popular kids have blackheads and big pores.

Chin up! Acne is not the end, and it is by no means forever. I finally got mine to clear up using the ocm (posted under natural alternatives section). Just look at your parents. Mine both had bad acne in their teens, and some into their adulthood, but very little. And the same thing happened for me. This really won't last forever.

Well, I can see that 1 year has passed. Anyway, I hope you no longer suffer from acne. If you are still following this thread, please reply with your opinion about the treatment.

I have also tried Minocycline. While on the first treatment, my face was clean, but after finishing it, my acne came back. My 2nd treatment was not that successful and I couldn't notice improvements.

Now I'm taking Sotret. If you want, you can see my treatment journal here:http://e-sotret.blogspot.com

Sorry that you have been suffering for so long with acute acne. Its all about helping people so thats why you have made this post.

I guess you have tried a plethora of online remedies and although natural remedies are the preferred way to go for many (including me) its not always the answer. Anyway trywww.clearskinpores.com even if you just read about what they have to say about acne. The good thing about this site is that they also talk about body acne which I never knew existed. Also their products are natural based as far as I can see.

Anyway i hope you find a solution.

    Hi Kyle,
About the depression, it sounds like you are really upset over this girl. I can tell that there are other fish in the sea. If she doesn't like you she doesn't know what she is missing. That used to work for me because I believe it. It may or may not work for you. I believe with exercise and a good diet you can over come this depression and the smoking.

I can tell you all about acne. I'm going through my final draft on a book I'm writing on Acne. The doctors do not want to cure you, they want to treat you. The antibiotics will hurt your health. Antibiotics distroy the good flora in your intestines. Yeast will grow and do damage. Don't take the pills, just cure it naturally. Colleges teach the cause of acne is nutrition, and I have proven this in my own life. Doctors will tell you that diet and acne are not related. They are lieing to you, plain and simple. It took six months for my acne to leave with antobiotics. I have scars to show for the doctor that was greedy and wanted me to keep coming.

All I would have had to do is stop the excessive drinking of milk and eating of ice cream.

I had severe acne as a youth. Promised myself that I would never let my kids go through what I had to go through. The low self esteem, etc.

Going to the dermatologist was a big mistake. I have been successful at curing both my sons of acne. It's mostly in the diet. My first son, Brian used to eat too much buttered bread. He had a method of applying butter to bread that must have been a world's record. I told him to stop with the extra butter and eat more in moderation. Teens do that kind of thing out of nervousness, they binge on the greasy oily foods, but it's not only what we eat. It has to do with hormones and diet.

Brian started eating better. Drinking orange juice instead of an orange drink. I also told Brian to start talking to girls. Treat them like a human being, not like a space alien. He started dating a girl and his acne was gone in about a month after I talked with him.

My second son Jeff has usually had near perfect complexion. He doesn't eat chocolate because it used to make him look like he had come down with the measles. After the morning he broke out with what looked like measles he stopped eating the 5 Hershey Nuggets a day and his complexion was back to normal in about 3 to 4 weeks. By the way its the cocoa butter in chocolate and the sugar that caused the acne. Sugar drives up insulin that drive up hormones that make the skin oily, so don't drink soft drinks. Drink water instead and eat fruit not the fruit juices. They also drive up insulin which causes the oily skin indirectly. One bottle of grape juice is equal to 3 or 4 pods of grapes.

Be big on natural foods. The fruits and vegetables and watch the junk foods. Potato chips and french fries are so greasy, just squeeze one and see.

Jeff recently at 19 yrs had a very serious breakout. It was the bread I bought. It was fresh baked from Sprouts market. The bread was high in shortening. You could feel the extra oil in it. Now his acne is gone once again. I believe Jeff is too sensitive to diet because he isn't active enough. He stays in the house. When teens get active and excercise, hike, run, swim, etc they burn up testosterone. This keeps the hormones down to a good normal level. People should be able to eat in moderation and not have acne.

My sweat used to be very oily. Once I started weight training, six days a week my sweat changed. It became thinner like water and my skin felt clean and acne free. I was burning up the extra hormones that made my skin oily and I watched my diet a little better.

I don't think people should have to weight train six days a week to over come Acne, but back then my diet was too greasy and I also consumed too much sugar. You can pull tendons with excessive exercise. I believe in moderation now days. It's smarter.

When I joined the military I was taking antibiotics for acne control.
After about 10 days in the military instead of the acne coming back like it had before, the extra oil just went away. The only difference was I was eating in moderation in the military and marching and doing something active all day. Not to the point of get exhausted, but just staying busy. This burned up the extra hormones that I would have had to deal with.

The food in the chow hall was pretty normal except we didn't get seconds and the desserts were small. Ice cream was in a little 4 oz paper cup, that was it. I didn't get to pig out and have three bowls of ice cream after high school everyday, and an eggnog before bed. Looking back at my teenage years it was obvious what caused my acne.

So Kyle, please get back with me and let me know how you are doing. Life can be good. The acne cure in a nut shell is this: "Feel Good About Yourself And Eat Good Food". Of course remember what I said about the exercising in moderation.

One more thing. Did you know in New Guinea and Paraguay researchers studied a total of 1305 people over two years time. In that time they didn't find as much as one small pimple on anyone. Those people don't have refined foods. They just eat what they hunt, catch, or grow, and they don't have milk. Replace milk with vegetables. The green leafy veggies have an abundance of calcium. The Collard Greens, Spinach, Turnip Greens, Mustard Greens. Eat tossed salad everyday. If it's milk that is you vice you will probably won't require it as much after getting an appetite for vegetables, but if your stomach wants milk you should drink it just don't over do it because milk is the number one cause of acne in America.

Weak teeth and bones are an American thing and it's in America that we drink all kinds of milk. Cows and Rhinos have very strong bones and they eat grass. People that have strong bones and good teeth eat greens not milk. Cats that drink pasturized milk only also have weak bones and teeth. Cats that drink raw milk only do just fine, but you can definitely catch a disease by drinking raw milk. A calf will die within six months by drinking it's own mothers milk if the milk is pasturized first. Stan

    Hey Kyle,
Hope you get on line. Maybe I can help. Girl friends can be a hand full. I must have dated 200 before I finally got married. It would have been easier on me to date less girls and have more meaningful dates. Relationships are stressful to say the least.

We must be strong in mind and body to handle it all. Exercise builds up endorphins. They allow us to be happier and feel less pain, so exercise is good to a point, but I wouldn't carry it too far. We don't want to be unfeeling either.

Most people don't know enough about nutrition. Did you know that citrus fruit in it's season from a fruit stand is very hard to beat. Vitamin C from oranges and Grapefruits allow more adrenalin to flow. It's the best energy. Breaks up worry and depression, but we have to have a good balanced diet to experience this Vitamin C high. Everything works together in harmony.

Here is something I just really learned this week. We are made up of more calcium than any other mineral in the body. Calcium performs many different functions in the body. We see a cow out there in the field eating grass and we think nothing of it. But that cow has strong bones and muscles and so do Rhinos in Africa. People on the other hand are nervous and have a lot of tooth decay and weak bones. They smoke and drink a lot. And atheletes often get injuries like pulled tendons. We think that lots of protein is good. Actually eating a lot of protein is what we do years before we start getting the injuries. Eat large amounts of steak and other proteins without eat much vegetables leaches calcium from our bodies because it takes calcium to digest protein. If we don't take the time to eat lots, I say lots of the green leafy veggies then we are really cheating ourselves and I'm not kinding.

We need to eat the greens that most people don't eat like Collard Greens, Turnips Greens, Spinach, and Mustard Greens. And Sesame seeds are full of calcium. We can put sesame seeds in a blender with water, blend it up and pour it through cheese cloth and squeeze out the milk part to drink or just put 2 to 4 ounces in a coffee cup and chew and eat these seeds by the mouth full. They taste good and every oz is 28% of your daily need for calcium. Calcium allows us to digest more protein and build muscle like the Bulls and Rhinos. I'm serious. There is nothing we about these animals. They say if you want to be strong like the bull you have to eat the bull. I say you also had better eat what the bull eats man. Not grass but those green leafy veggies from the produce section.

We don't have to smoke if we eat good. Eating good makes us relaxed, that is if we stay at the table long enough to eat enough of these greens to get enough calcium. We spend that much time and more smoking don't we. I know, most Americans don't stay at the table and graze very long, but we should. Greens like Collard and Turnip greens taste different than most anything, but get used to them and they can change your life making you strong and healthy. When you are strong and healthy it's a lot harder to become depressed. I know this from experience. From 25 to 35 years old I was under weight and couldn't gain weight. I was anorexic from stupid low calorie diets, not eating much bread. I felt depressed a lot, but as I ate more and gained healthy weight I slowly left the depression behind. I hope this letter will make a difference in your life Kyle. Good luck. If you read this please let me know. Drop me an email lehuggard@cox.net. In good health, Stan

I really hope I can help you. I was given this product when I was around 12 - 13 and have never had pimples since. My Grand Father was a Doctor and only used natural products. I'm so sick of people getting ripped off by companies preying on people with acne and decided to start manufacturing this on a commercial basis. Unlike other products mine works by cleansing and cooling the blood where the impurities are and stops them before they get a chance to break out. I've given this to many, many friends with acne ranging from mild to extreme and has worked every time. If you want me to send you a free sample email me info@endzitz.com hope I can help. Robyn

    Hi Kyle,
I caution you against using products to cure Acne. The reason is that what ever is causing the Acne is an imbalance in your system. When you use a product whether it's taken internally or used externally it has not stopped the imbalance that is hurting you.

I've cured both my sons by just watching their diets. Pointing out the things they shouldn't eat very much of like the butter, the mayonaise, sugary food, ice cream, etc. Excessive sugar like soda pop causes Acne by raising hormone level which make the skin oily with sebum.

Neither of my sons drink milk and they both have great teeth. America and New Zealand are big consumers of milk and both countries lead the world in tooth decay and Osteoporosis. It's the pasturization that makes milk very hard to get anything out of. I still drink it about every 4th day or so. Not sure why. I have many fillings from my teen years when I drank lots of milk. Studies show the more milk you drink the worst the teeth and bones get.

A baby calf can't live more than six months when drinking it's own mothers's milk if the milk is pasturized before the calf has it. The pasturization kills the enzymes in the milk. Yes, milk protein is a delicate protein. Milk has been linked to at least a hundred diseases, but if your stomach is hungry for milk you should drink it before you suffer from some kind of deficiency. Just don't drink so much. In time the eating of vegetables will lessen your need for milk and maybe eliminate your hunger for it.

Milk is the largest cause of Acne. When people move here from other countries where milk is not part of their diet they usually don't have Acne. Once they start with the American diet many start getting Acne. When they stop drinking the milk the Acne starts leaving. Of course if they start eating chocolate candy or some other junk food in excess the Acne will start coming back.

Teens that drink 2 to 3 cups of milk a day are very likely to have severe Acne. Studies show that teens drinking 1 cup or less a week are far less likely to have severe Acne. It is so easy to eat the wrong things here in America.

French fries, potato chips, milk shakes, eggnogs, sausage, bacon. We have such an abundance here and we actually will do quite well without any of these foods I just mentioned.

My son Jeff recently had a serious Acne outbreak. It came quickly and was a huge surprise. We quickly thought, what has changed in Jeff's diet. We knew right away it was the new type of bread we bought. It was from a local grocery store bakery. Very high in shortening, was more oily. You could feel it.

Now 5 weeks later his Acne has cleared up again. With a change in diet Acne will leave very quickly. Colleges teach that diet caused Acne, milk and milk produces are top on the list.

Dermatologists will tell you diet and Acne aren't related, but I have proven that is not true.

Lots of serious vegetables will make you very healthy. The serious vegetables as being the dark leafy ones like the Turnip Greens, Collard Greens, Spinach, Mustard Greens, etc. My favorites are the Turnip Greens and the Collard Greens. My taste buds could change tomorrow. I'm opened to trying new foods that are natural and health.

You don't have to go to a mountain top somewhere to eat better. When I was a teen with Acne I noticed that I ate a sweeter and more greasy diet than most other teenagers and my complexion was much worse. Hope I didn't mis-spell anything. Talk to you later, Stan

    Hello Keyle,

Though acne is a common problem that left not only scars but a psychological trails strong enough to detach oneself from society and the feeling of lower self esteem behind it. But the depression you are suffering from will not help you any way instead it causes the problem to get more worst as ACNE is directly proportional to STRESS. The more the stress pervades your mind the more you would get acne on your face/body.

I am sure that you are thinking about that it is easy for me to say all this as it is not me but you who are suffering from, but instead of getting worried about it and helping the situation getting more worst, why don't you concentrate on healing acne in natural way. There are lots of natural way to heal acne. But you need to be consistent and keep paitence for this atleast upto 2 years. Just read about the natural way of healing acne in my coming post ofhttp://medicainfo.com .

I know that 2 yrs is a long duration but its better to be consistent and takes pain to follow the natural healing process than getting suffered through out the life with acne on face. Hope you will get well soon

please ignore all useless successions and read my article in this forum "Permanent cure to Acne", Don't toxin your body by taking antibiotics which would lead to more complications and add more depression, depression is a negative energy all you need is to build will power and stop applying creams and lotions on your face, use an mild soap(Dove/pears) if you feel more dryness then apply some moisturizer leave it few min and wash off with cold water and pat dry.
