hello
I just turned 28 and had perfect skin all my life. It's been three months my cheeks are covered with pimples (well i mean the ones that really have nohing inside them) and I do have few blackheads on chin and forehead. however, i would have one or two of those before menstruation so not that big issue.
the cheek ones are not red but they are annoying me very much despite people not really noticing them. a doctor said it's minor acne and prescribed differin this gave me a full-blown dermatitis so i stopped. the next doctor who treated my dermatitis could not see what was going on because of it and was sceptical about it being acne then.
my questions are various. the last year i have been overtly stressed-has anyone noticed acne appearing during stressed times? I also changed my diet dramatically, by which i mean i started eating fatty food and actually gained quite a few pounds. An overall change of lifestyle there was-did anyone have a similar experience?
the reason i am asking this is cause i read online that there is supposedly no link between those and i am wondering if it's worth changing my lifestyle again to see how my skin reacts.
though am not sure if that's the usual adult mild acne what would you suggest to treat it? I bought the avene line and am hoping to use it and watch my nutrition for a month and if nothing changes see a dermatologist.
also in terms of itchiness-does acne usually itch, because my cheeks occasionally do and a lot-which made me wonder whether this is some type of recurring allergy given i am a very allergic person.
thanks all!

Thanks both for your replies. As I was suspecting this was not acne, no blackheads nor whiteheads.
It is a case of mild rosacea. Just saw the dermatologist today and I shall be starting treatment. However, he did say after taking my history that it is possible that my lifestyle change during the last year triggered this and told me to change into a proper diet regime and that people see a lot of changes with a healthy diet. So I suppose it makes sense the same would go for acne.. -
Hello mnicholeowa,
Thanks a lot for your tips. I have to admit that indeed I knew even before seeing the dermatologist that this was somehow related to my change of lifestyle and my increased levels of stress last year.
So I am already on medication (my type of rosacea is not really visible to others, no redness really, just papules without pus but I, having had perfect clear skin all my life, notice them and want to get rid of them). My treatment is really mild actually. However, because the doctor was fairly sure there is a link to my lifestyle as well, I have already changed my nutrition and am doing most of the things you suggest already plus started exercising once again. Weight loss will be anyway welcome given that I had gained a few pounds last year due to stress :) Even if rosacea doesn't subside there are many more benefits from a healthy lifestyle so it's a good motivation.
Best wishes :)
