Okay, you name it, I've tried it.
    Really.
I have battled zits for DECADES, without success. Until now. My skin isn't perfect but it is waaaay better than it has been since I hit puberty, over 20 years ago.
    Here's my routine:
In the shower or just washing my face I use a combo of cold-pressed organic coconut oil and shea butter (mixed up in a container).
I put about a heaping teaspoon of the mix on my warm, wet face and neck and rub it in.
    NO SOAP! Just the oil-paste.
After massaging this in a bit I dip my fingers into a pot of baking soda and apply about a teaspoon's worth of that to my face.
Then I rub and scrub for at least a minute. With a face-brush. Vigorously.
I wash it all off with warm water and a face-cloth.
Dry my face (which feels soft and still a bit oily).
    Splash on some witch hazel.
My face is a bit red from all the scrubbing, but it goes away quickly.
Once my face has air dried I apply a very small amount of el-cheapo Life Brand benzoil peroxide (5%) cream all over my entire face and put a little bit more anywhere it looks like a zit might be deciding to appear.

My skin looks great! It's soft, moist, and aside from a few very small blemishes, is entirely zit free! For weeks now.

In the past I'd tried baking soda, benzoil peroxide, vinegar etc. but it always made my skin crusty and awful. Putting the moisturizing oils on there first (rather than last) seems to be the key.

Okay, so there you have it. Cheap, easy, mostly natural. YAY!

I hope it works for you.

ps. Do it 2x per day. Every day. NEVER use soap!
