I've been blessed with beautiful skin all my life...then at age 20 I was diagnosed with peri-oral dermatitis. It was very minor, I treated it with Clindamycin (spelling?) lotion. It got much better, but then I developed horrible adult acne. I started Retin-A Micro gel about 4 1/2 weeks ago. I use it EVERY night and I use Clindamycin lotion in the morning. I was also prescribed tetracycline but i refuse to use it, I hate pills. My face has been tight, red, itchy and super flaky. In the first two weeks my skin looked amazing and I worshiped the product, even tho I was red and flaky, but then it started bringing all the acne, under the skin, to the surface. Now..I'm red and flakey with worse acne. But I have faith that in the next few weeks (week 6,7 and 8) my condition will improve. I've heared that this process is normal when using Retin-A micro gel. Any feedback? -
yea it is the first process. i was using retin-a i started breaking out the first 4 days. then i had to remind myself that it was bringing all the bacteria to the surface which it was then the third week i would do it every other night becasue if u use it everyday ur skin is going to get used to the medication and it wont work as strong as it did the first time. common sense ppl! the fourth week my acne was gone completly! i still use it but i use it every other week/

Dear Bea933, don't worry, Retin-a Cream is a good treatment, maybe the best at this moment. I've started a treatment some time ago, but it seems my skin was unable to support this treatment, my skin got really red I had to discontinue the treatment. Anyway, Retin-A Micro GEL was better I mean I was able to support the treatment. My acne is better, if I can say so, I mean I still have some pimples, my skin is not like for a beauty contest, but now at least I can go out without tones of make-up.
So stay with it.
By the way, I have no idea what Clindamycin is doing, but check with your doctor, sometimes a medicine works alone but not in conjunction with others!
And Esteban, thank you for your note.
Best to you
Anna
