Hey! I'm new to this forum! I just started reading about acne and milk a week ago. Since I read about it I stopped most dairy. Living in north america, it's hard to get away from all dairy completely. I'm also allergic to dairy and so I've been having the lactose free stuff for years. I was raised on goat milk my whole childhood. I started breaking out when I was only nine. But it wasn't until my teens that I developed cystic acne. I'm now 31 and sick and tired of dealing with this! If dairy is all I need to get rid of my breakouts, the I'll say good bye now! Has anyone else been dairy free for a long time and experienced good results? Any added info is great!

I suffered, both physically and mentally, with cystic acne for 15 years since from the age of 13 and only now in my 28th year am i finally free from it. I have thought for several years that diet was a massive factor and i cut various things out with mixed sucess. Cutting out carby junk seemed to make my skin less greasy but i'd still get boils and swollen inflamations on my face and massive white heads on my back. the penny finally dropped about 3 months ago when I was doing a lot of working out and drinking lots of whey protein shakes and my acne, especially on my back went bonkers. It was then that i realised the link. I immediately got online and did some investigating about milk and acne and there was info about it. I cut out milk, cheese, yogurt.. all that shit from my diet and have had clear skin from then. I have had one break out that was due to dropping my guard when hungover and it made me so convinced that i had finally twigged it. My self and my girlfriend are now both totally dairy free. She had been suffering with what was presumed to be excma around her eyes which has now totally cleared since ditching milk. If you are sick of having shit skin then this is the simplest and cheapest thing you could try. You need a 100% irradication from you rdiet, half measures don't cut it. Do it, do it now!

I broke out really bad last month for no apparent reason. In trying to figure it out, I discovered that dairy was a common cause (of which I had consumed an abundance). Anyway, I decided to go off dairy to test for causality. It's been 1.5 weeks and no apparent change has taken place. Am I being impatient or should I look elsewhere for the cause of my breakout?
