I have had a horrible time with my acne trying every topical treatment there is. I have even been on oral pills as well. I was on spironoactone, and got such a bad case of drug indused lupus that i was hospitalized.
I am on cleocin T lotion and retinA micro. my acne is not going away. My dermatologist just gave me a presription for Ceftin 250 mg twice a day. I am having trouble finding good info about it online, Has anyone ever tried it. I am nervous about taking a pill because of what happened before.

Hi!
I went to the dermatologist too and gave me pills that never helped me. But finally I found a good dermatologist that gave me the traditional tetracycline treatment, which works very good. The problem with this treatment is that you can take it only on the cold period such as late fall, winter, early spring, when the sun is not that strong. And another problem is that I don't know if you can get tetracycline without prescription.
The treatment have to be taken for couple months:
- first week three pills a day
- second and third week 2 pills a day
- forth, fifth and sixth 1 pill a day
This treatment really helped me...Good luck! -
Avoid spicy things from food and have fruits everyday. Because acne comes due to harmonal changes and spicy food.
