Hi all,
Im 16, male and have very bad acne on my chest and back.I have blackheads developing all over the top part of my chest, even though i shower everyday and use a blackhead scrub. In the very middle of my chest, (breastbone) iv started to get pimples, then they turned into larger red pimples with puss inside. Than after a good while these large lumps felt all soft and eventually bust with a large amount of blood coming out and a small amout of puss. Once the blood clears, im left with a deep scar, that is very painfull at first. Then it settles and a dark red scar, that is pitted and very wide is left and doesn't clear for months. Its very painful and unsightly, and when i play sports (gealic football) i have to catch the ball on my chest and then this leads to the large lumps bursting or similar, which again , is painful.
Any help or advice is appreciated,
p.s. il upload pictures of it when i get a chance.

Before seeing a doctor, use benzoyl peroxide cleanser in the shower and apply benzoyl peroxide gel afterwards.
You can also tried Zenmed Body Acne; it reduces the acne on my back by about 60%, which is better than anything else I've tried.I have very sensitive skin and 99.9% of products will irritate my skin. This one doesn't.
If acne doesn't get better, see a doctor, because you may need oral antibiotics.
Once had back acne in control, ensure that you do not do anything further to irritate the skin again.Avoid tight fitting clothes and shun fabric softeners. Also, drink lots of water and include vegetables and fruits in your diet to nourish the skin.

Hi NAPST3R, for back acne and body acne try Neutrogena Clear Body Acne Wash, is very good. Since I moved from USA I could find that anymore, but I found something also very good: Senses shower gel from Avon.
I use to have very bad back acne and chest too, since I use this product my skin is very clean, not even a pimple...So, good luck. -
Thanks to all that replied and sorry for my late reply. I've since been to see my local docter and got a prescription for "Minocin SA Caps". Been taking them now for the past week,(and i was told i wouldn't notice any change for over a month), but already its starting to clear up. I don't seem to be getting any new spots and it looks like its calmed right down (Although it could be my imagination!)lol.
I've been givin a months supply of these tabs and told to check back with my doctor at the end of the month. He seemed to think i could be taking them for about 6 months and it should be completely cleared by then and i can stop taking it? Second opinion anyone? Also anyone know bad side effects?
Thanks for the info and link RAFFAELLA. Not sure about benzoyl peroxide yet, il see how the antibiotics go and maybe try it then. I already use Neutrogena Clear Body Acne Wash. Its good but not strong enough for my acne! Thanks for the advice anyways Anna. Also DrDar, thanks for the offer, sounds like great stuff and would love to try it but i live in Ireland so postage could be costly. Il be sure to buy it if you launch over the net.
Anyway, have a long way to go yet so il keep you all informed.
Thanks again for all the replies everyone, really helped!

Here are some side effects associated with Minocine (which is a tetracycline antibiotic)
More common:
cramps or burning of the stomach
diarrhea
Less common:
itching of the rectal or genital areas
sore mouth or tongueTherefore don't worry about the postage.. its nothing compared to the cost of these antibiotics :)
