I am a 22 year old female i started getting acne at the age of 16 before that i had the most beuatifallest skin ever :(. I was a late developer so i think puberty may have had something to do with me developing spots. i have tried lots of treatments. face treatments and antibiotic treatments such as oxytracycyclin. i have changed the pill i was taking but nothing at all helped. i even spent £1000 pounds on n-lite laser treatment in london harley street. and spent another £500 on chemical peels. This did clear up my skin but however didnt stop the spots comig back and i still have lots of boil like spots and small white heads. alot of open poures on my cheeks chin and forehead and alot of scars. I use alot of makeup and i do a great job of discising my spots and scars. nobody even really notices that underneath i have sever acne.

but however i am very deppressed i cant go out of the house without makeup and i am constantly reapplying. i do change it regularly though so that bacteria doesnt build up in it. i hide away from people when they knock on the door. i dont like swimming at all ever because my makeup will come off. i am just soooo god dam fed up.

at the moment i use a simple soap no7 blemish care and tcp. iv been doing this for about two weeks.
    and still no improveents

Did you read my post about women with adult acne? Definitely try switching makeup. I believe that over use of liquid makeup was part of what caused or at least contributed to my acne. Also hormones can play a big role.

It sound just like the kind of acne I had. Because of my acne problems I went to school to try get rid of it. There is no cure for acne but there is something you can do about it for sure. I used Glymed's Action Pac Introductory Kit - Acne Grade 3. I used these products at least once sometimes twice a day depending on my skin's sensitivity and it made it so I could go out in public and not feel like I have to hide my face. The products it has contains Salicylic Acid and Benzoil Peroxide.

Salicylic Acid- is a beta hydroxy acid that softens keratin, which loosens the dry scaly skin making it easier to remove. For acne it helps to slow down the shedding of the cells inside the follicles, preventing clogging, as well as breakdown blackheads and whiteheads

Benzoyl Peroxide - is an antibacterial agent and oxygen releasing chemical that kills p. acnes, the bacteria responsible for acne breakouts. The release of oxygen is important to combat the anaerobic bacteria present in the acne-afflicted follicles. The peeling and drying effects peel the acne pustules and open up comedones.

You can buy it on Amazon (Glymed will not let you purchase through their site unless you are a vendor).
    Good Luck.

    Hi there,

Acne scars are stubborn, and no single treatment is best for everyone. Various procedures can improve your complexion, however. One option may be to inject collagen or fat under the skin and into the acne scars. This fills out or stretches the skin, which makes acne scars less noticeable. Results are temporary, so you'd need to repeat the injections periodically. As another option, you may consider microdermabrasion to remove the cells on the surface of the skin or dermabrasion to completely remove the top layer of skin. Various laser treatments can also be used to treat acne scars. In some cases, surgery to remove deeply indented acne scars is an option. To determine what's best for you, discuss the pros and cons of each procedure with your doctor or dermatologist.

Microdermabrasion can be costly but I guess it would depend on what you think is expensive. I think a session is about $150. I had my first one done a few weeks ago- it was free because I am doing laser hair removal with the company. I have to say I LOVE the results. As someone who is 30 years old and have suffered from acne most of my life and spending tons of money on things that haven't helped (pro-activ, topical treatments from the derm). I was on Yasmin, a birth control pill, that helped me from breaking out but did nothing for my scars or the oilyness of my skin. The microderm was uncomfortable but was over in less than 5 minutes. It was a little like sandpaper but they can adjust the intensity. My pores are smaller, and my skin feels and looks a lot better. Some of my scars are gone and others are lighter and less visable. Usually I could fry chicken with the amount of oil on my face when I wake up in the morning, this morning, very little oil. Even as I am typing, at this point in the day, I would have to wipe my face, not today. The only side effect that I had with it was my face was a little itchy afterwards but nothing that was unbearable. For me, it is worth the investment of $150 a treatment because I have been embarrassed and frustrated for a long time because of my skin. I am not here as a representative of any company, just as someone who suffered from acne for too long and am happy to have something that can help.
