Hey, I'm a teenager with acne that isn't too bad. I mostly have minor scars on my cheeks. If I use make-up, it's not obvious.
I'm finally ready to try something that I hope will give me good results. I tried ProActive, and AcneFree. I've also tried several products from Avon, and even Clearasil. (Clearasil worked for about 2 weeks, then it stopped giving me results from breakouts.)
I was thinking about trying a micro-dermabrasion kit that you can but from the store.
I was just wondering if any of you can give me advice about which one may work.(I've got olive/tan skin, and my scars are pretty dark.)
I don't break out too often anymore, but I do have very oily skin, and like I mentioned, all I want to do is just "wipe my scars off"
    Thanks for any advice!

    Hi indiancowgirl,
If your scars are just dark spots the microdermabrasion kit is not going to help you that much. It good to have the treatment done, but if you still have breakouts is not recommended. You are just going to make them worse.
For the scars you have use a bleaching cream or lightening cream, which work pretty good.I used a bleaching cream which worked very well for me.
So, about what kit to choose I would recommend you to wait till you have your face clear, with no breakouts, and then you can get the Neutrogena one, or if you want a more expensive one try MD SkinCare Alpha Beta Daily Face Peel/2 Steps.
I used Neutrogena and AVON, but to be honest with you I didn't see any difference. If you want an effective one go to a cosmetic saloon where they do this procedure and get it done. But I strongly recommend the bleaching cream which really works and is cheaper.

Hey, I haven't checked back since my post, but I went ahead and picked up a peel from Loreal- the Adult Acne Treatment (3-step) and it helps. My scars have been fading and breakouts don't occur as often. I'm not too consistent, because it's for adults, and I don't know if I should use it more often...anyway, I'm having awesome results, and would highly recommend it.
Tee, can you tell me which bleaching cream you use? I've heard of some people that totally mess up their complexion and are left with bleached spots lighter than other places, on their face.
    Thanks-

I think you guys are using to much stuff- a scar is a sign of a healing process, you should let it heal naturaly, all the chemicals you put on your face might react and cause a chemical reaction giving you the "good old" breakouts back!
    Be careful
and always think about that the girls you see with beautiful skin on them posters are people whom never had problems with acne before only advertising the products for multibillionaire companies! Also as a Designer, I tell you straight away, a lot of the pictures has been modified by professional designers with computer softwares like photoshop! However, we should not forget about the several years experienced photographer as well which gives the picture a touch of freshness and charismatic light vision!

    LET IT HEAL NATURALY =)

    p.s
Use to have scars, they were not to bad, but they faded away after maybe 2-3 years of time

    Hi indiancowgirl,
Well, it didn't have a name. It is prepared by some plastic surgeon from Laser Cosmetica NY. I bought it from there like 3 years ago. It was $60. If you can get there try the one from Palmers. It works too. You can buy it from Amazon over the Internet.
    Good Luck!

Poor girl, i can totally emphatize. the bad news is, scars don't disappear by themselves. you can start working part time to save up for laser treatment or microdermabrasion. in the meantime, just try not to scratch or even pinch them. i did that in my teens and now i'm in my twenties and have to fork out thousands to save my skin. i just had laser treatment earlier, for the deeply buried sebaceous cysts and will be doing microdermabrasion next month or so. i guess make up will help hide it but a good skincare routine will be the best. a visit to your dermie is highly recommended.
