The best way to prevent post-inflammatory changes caused by acne is to prevent acne lesions from occurring. This is done by understanding the factors that cause acne and using the appropriate treatments for the different acne types. See the following articles for more information about acne causes and treatments

Try not to focus on the scars, but on the acne treatment itself. The scars will disappear after a while, but you have to treat the acne first. I recommend you see some doctors. Try each one's prescription if you have never tried it before. This is how you may win.

I recommend you talking to a dermatologist about isotretinoin. I'm taking it and I started noticing some results.

Regards,

i think the best approach is to go to a good and reputable dermatologist. no point wasting money on buying products to try and see if it works. u waste time and money.

i've ordered ClearPores before, it's totally ineffective!

i only regret that im too stubborn to delay in seeking treatment from a professional.

can read my blog as i share my experiences on choosing my skin doc and treatment approaches.

Hi there,

Sorry to hear about your hardship and your acne problem. I am now 31 and have had acne since I was 14 also. Mine isn't as severe as what yours sounds but still extremely annoying and embarrassing all the same. I was just wondering if you have heard of SensiClear. It's a new product that is being endorsed by the Janice Dickenson Modelling agency. I have been using it for almost 2 weeks now and so far I have to say I am impressed. I have noticed a huge difference in my skin and my acne is almost gone. They have a 30 day free trial on at the moment so this might be something worth trying. The website is the product name.com. Wasn't sure if links are allowed on the forum.

Let me know how you get on.

Hi everyone! I'm 18 and I've got severe acne-prone skin. I've tried everything for it, from Neutrogena to Clean and Clear to Oxy to ProACtiv to the more high-end ones; Kiehl's, Dermalogica, Origins. I usually get no more than 3 zits at a time but recently I had a major outbreak. My whole face is congested with acne. It didn't come to me as a shock though as I have been going through a rough and stressful patch. To top it off, I've been spending my time under the sun alot which I guess has triggered my "oil-generating glands"(lack of a better scientific word here =/). I am currently using Karin Herzog in the past month or so and have not seen any improvement, but instead there are even more raised bumps on my face. It's also quite depressing to see that the bumps have also left scars/red marks. I feel like the turn of events in my life and my appearance have made me lose my self-esteem, which always results in my unhealthy food-binging sessions that may have caused my skin problem to worsen as well. I'm tired of feeling like crap and am determined to do something about it every other day. So could you please please please help me? What can I do about my acne problem and the scars? =/ And what makeup would you recommend for my skin? Looking at the mirror makes me feel so insecure all the time. I also realised I have developed some back-acne as well and I wonder if there's anything I can do about that too. Thanks in advance!
