A moisturizer is a boost to irritated skin and keeps skin from becoming overly dry due to the acne treatments that have been applied. Look for a moisturizer with the following properties:

- oil-free

- won’t clog pores (non-comodogenic)

- containing a sun-screen

forgot to mention, i just did this again today and you really notice it if you look in the mirror after. Just pat your face dry with a towel.. and it feels SO nice and refreshing...just makes you feel overall really good.

i am against using anything, such as face washes.....water seems to work great for me...i put up a thread actually on how to just use water for keeping a zit free face - of course this may not apply for all skin conditions, especially already covered faces - thats when i would suggest using face wash till the zits were neerly gone/under control then slowly use less and less of the face wash and applying the methods I talked about (if anyone wants the link i'll post it here).

ICE DOES HELP, it doesn't help to remove pimples, mainly cause it closes pores and all... BUT IF YOU have a clean face or neerly cleen face, and start using a little bowl or plastic tub with cold water and some ice poured in it, and just let your face soak in it for around 15 seconds..do it a few times...you know your limits - you dont want your face to be all numb (but that wont hurt them). IT HELPS prevent them more, and it certainly tightens/firms your skin and makes you look younger as said before. And as Aly said, it does nourish the skin. So over all you'll be getting some smooth nice skin, im a guy, and this helps me alottt.
Ice only helps reduce swelling but doesnt control acne... :)

so this can be considered as a partial myth

I've heard this for the first time. Well application of ice or a splash of cool water definitely nourishes the skin making it look better.

Your grandma probably said so because application of ice removes dirt surfaces and closes open pores. you may prevent having more pimples but am not sure if it work on reducing them.
