let me see if I understood: your abscess problems are gone and you are aggravating to break the scars problem, but application Retin-A and you are abashed of new pimples application it. Then WHY application Retin-A? Choose something abroad for scars. I don't know, something to alleviate and blister at the aforementioned time.

im not popping any huge red angry pimples anymore.. but i do still hav occasional small pimple, which will go away overnight after applying pimple cream (currently using Mario Badescu drying lotion).
most of my acne scars have lightened significantly over 1 week and i hav to thank the BB cream. it really helps in whitening and conditioning of skintone. ;)

I embarked on my self-designed treatment for acne after seeing a dermatologist and been on Minocin (antibiotics) for 4 months. Actually my dermatologist wanted me to start oral contraceptive pills (OC pills) but I do not want to.
Instead, I bought my own supplements -
~ 1 Evening Primrose Oil (EPO) 1000mg/softgel, twice a day (morn and night)
~ 4 collagen pills 300mg/pill, at night before sleep
I am still continuing Retin-A cream because it is helping though needs alot of patience.
Meanwhile, I am using BB cream to improve my skintone and I can say it works.

I use Retin-A too, and it works. The only thing is that your face is a continuous peeling process and the people around you are trying to convince you that you are using the wrong stuff. It's great for wrinkles too.

Somebody wrote me asking for more info about Retin-A and pregnancy.
From what I know (and as far as I remember, it is on Retin-A label, too), I know it is recommended not to use Retin-A during pregnancy and breast-feeding, even more, not to use Retin-A before getting pregnant (1-2 months), if possible. Anyway, this all this must be checked with the physician first.
From what I know all tretinoin-based products (in fact, all vitamin-A based acne and cosmetic products) must be avoided. Even liver is not indicated to be eat by pregnant women :) yes, sad but true
Looking for other opinions from you
Best

I know that microdermabrasion helps you to get rig of your scars, but what you are going to do when you still have pimples. You can't do that procedure when you still have acne, because you are going to spread it more and make it worse.

I got that cheap Retin-A, too. I don't know if genuine, but it works as good as the one from US. No need for prescription or anything else. You just need to know their language to be able to ask for it.

Hi Mike,
If you say you don't get pimples anymore has no point of using Retin-A, which is very strong and exfoliates your face. For red marks use a bleaching cream. Ask the pharmacist or better go to a cosmetician or cosmetic retailer and ask to recommend you a good bleaching cream that works. From my experience I can tell you that really works, without exfoliating the skin or thinning the skin, which in your situation it's not recommended . If you still use your dad's dermovate make sure you use an sun bloc when you go outdoors.
You can buy an over the counter lightening cream , but I can't guarantee you that it works.
