It's natural to worry about acne. And forget what they say about stress causing acne. It's a very small relationship between stress and acne but like some of the previous people said, don't pick at your acne, drink lots of water (again the relationship is not that strong but it couldn't hurt). Avoid touching your face. Oil from your hair may cause acne. People must understand that acne is caused by a bacteria that lives in your sebum which is an oily substance found in the skin. Washing your face with mild soap and water may help but will not stop the underlying problem. Because its bacterial, antibiotics are needed either topically (Benzoyl peroxide, erythromycin, clindamycin, etc.) or in a pill or capsule form. Usually, doctors start with creams and lotions because patients like them better and if that doesn't work they go to more intense treatments like antibiotic pills/capsules. If that still doesn't work, some doctors or pharmacists recommend birth control for women and accutane for both men and women but beware the side effects......where do I get my info?
www.doesproactivwork.org is a great site made by a pharmacist who had acne and now has a clear looking face! He reviews Proactiv with an unbiased approach which contains benzoyl peroxide.

Tea tree oil for acne is something I've also heard about...does anybody know about that? Please share. Thanks!

Acne Treatments For Teenagers
The Teenagers' Guide on Treating Acne

Acne is truly one of the big problems faced and most feared by teenagers anywhere around the globe. To some, it is a nightmare to have acne that truly gives very unfavorable effects. It surely lowers a person's self-esteem to express themselves freely and confidently to their families, friends, partners or to anyone. It certainly carries with it physical, as well as, emotional scars made by self-conciousness and embarrassment that made some don't even want to get out of their rooms!

So without further ado, here are my favorite natural acne scar solutions:
Vitamin E
Don’t underestimate the power of this healing lotion. You can get it at any drugstore in topical form. I have a HUGE bottle of it under my sink . Vitamin E naturally heals scars by moisterizing the damaged skin. Use it everyday to fade away acne scars.
Cocoa Butter
This one should be used carefully. If your acne is not already under control, cocoa butter does pose the threat of additional breakouts. However, if you’re using the 3 Day Cure technique & your skin is finally clear, this is a powerful healing tool. Cocoa Butter will soften skin, lighten the scars & make them fade into nothing. I love this one. By the way, Cocoa Butter also works great on fading stretch marks.
Honey
Okay, this is totally gonna change your life! Honey works overtime on acne & acne scars. Yes, Honey! When I first learned about this natural remedy, I was pretty bewildered. The sound of it alone is confusing. Honey is a sticky, sugary substance. How can it possibly clear up skin?
Honey kills bacteria while simultaneously lessens the red look of irritated skin. The acidity in the honey evens out your skin tone, shrinks current pimples & will give your skin a softer feel. Listen, I know you may be skeptical of this solution. I was at first, then I tried it. This natural acne scar remedy works great.
Lemon
Lemon will help clear up acne as well as fade acne scars. Plus your face will smell like a freshly shined harwood floor, so that’s a plus
The acidity in the juice will lighten the redness of the scars & balance your skin’s pH levels to prevent future breakouts. Give it a shot.

I've used Cetaphil before, but I prefer Neutrogena Extra Gentle Cleanser. I don't care for Cetaphil's texture, but it does work to get rid of my href="http://treatingforeheadacne.blogspot.com/">forehead acne. I just can't stand the way it feels. There are numerous other cleansers out there that work comparably to Cetaphil. I have a list of href="http://treatingforeheadacne.blogspot.com/2010/04/cleansers-for-forehead-acne.html">forehead acne cleansers on my blog, if anyone is interested in other options.

I use the Cetaphil cleanser to remove my makeup and prep my face for the acne system I use (AcneFree). I really like it; it gets rid of dirt and oil without drying out my skin or throwing it out of balance. It doesn't really do anything about acne prevention or treatment but it is a really gentle and effective cleanser. The only issue I have with it is that it's really runny so it can be difficult to get the right amount to stay on your fingers prior to application.

Excuse me, but if you don't have acne, why the heck are you bothering? :D You should be happy.

Anyway, that bad acne doesn't come from hygiene. But to be sure you'll get no pimple, wash your face 2 or 3 times a day with a soap made for your type of skin and avoid touching different things with your face (yeah, a lot of ppl do it).

Oh, and be happy, ffs! :)

You guys are looking for the acne cure in all the wrong places. Do you think the teenage body is made to have acne to chase the girls away and vise versa?

Did you know that in all the countries of the world where they don't have the greasy milk, the ice cream, the eggnogs, the chocolate candy, and even bread with the shortening and oils, the soft drinks with 12 teaspoons of sugar and tons of caffeine in every can.

Did you know in places where they just eat fruits and vegetables, beans, and rice, fish and meat they don't have any pimples?

Milk is the worst. All kinds of refined foods are the problem. Eating right will only take from two weeks to a month or two to actually rid you of pimples. By the way, bread is very essential for Americans. Rice tastes great, but I'm not acclimated to just eating rice like someone from vietnam is. If I just ate rice I would probably start losing my hair and teeth. I would become deficient. Eating bread in moderation or buying bread at Sprouts where some of the bread there isn't made with shortening or different oils and sugar is best. Once you learn to eat the better less greasy foods you won't have pimples. Eat things like apple, bananas, and grape everyday instead of the sweet candy, milk, french fries, and ice cream and your acne will go away.

Only about 10 days into basic training where we ate in moderation, didn't get seconds and no in between meal snacks and my acne and oily skin was gone. Stan
