I got that cheap Retin-A, too. I don't know if genuine, but it works as good as the one from US. No need for prescription or anything else. You just need to know their language to be able to ask for it.

Hi Mike,
If you say you don't get pimples anymore has no point of using Retin-A, which is very strong and exfoliates your face. For red marks use a bleaching cream. Ask the pharmacist or better go to a cosmetician or cosmetic retailer and ask to recommend you a good bleaching cream that works. From my experience I can tell you that really works, without exfoliating the skin or thinning the skin, which in your situation it's not recommended . If you still use your dad's dermovate make sure you use an sun bloc when you go outdoors.
You can buy an over the counter lightening cream , but I can't guarantee you that it works.

I have had acne and pimples since I was 15. I'm 23 now. I rarely get pimples, except a few along the sides of my eyes. I have red acne scars and marks that never seem to heel or fade along my cheeks.

My dad keeps a tube of dermovate in the bathroom and one day I tried some on. It's a steroid, I believe, and reduces redness instantly. When I put it on, all the red pockmarks look normal and my face looks perfect. The steroid seems to keep the face clear for about 2 days before the effect wears off. I suspect it thins the skin and is harmful to use in the long run. Pity that something fast working like this couldn't be invented for acne.

Question. I was wondering if I should try Retin A? My skin is very sensitive, and it sounds very strong. I'd say I have very mild acne. I don't get bumps or any painful cysts, it's mainly blackheads on the nose and red pockmarks along the cheeks. Would you recommend me using Retin A or any other treatments?

Right now all I use is Daktacort, which the doctor prescribed for flaking skin.

I dont mean to criticize here , but You should really stay away from cheap medication. Retin A is an expensive treatment and if you that you have found it as cheap as $5 somehere then probably think twice before using it. The reaction can be svere. Reaction are not those oly that occur after immediate use but they also do occur after some time has passed.

So do keep a check out :)

later today I'll try.

you know, I was thinking: they have special prices for poor countries such as Bulgaria, Hungary, Romania...
If you think they earn $100/month, I find it quite expensive to spend 5 on retin-A. this means 5% from salary. If I'll by a retin-a with $130 and this should represent 5% from my mountly income, means I must earn $2600, and I am earning more then this. So for Bulgarians Retin-A is even more expensive then it is for us. Only that sounds great to buy it for 5$
